Throughout history, I can think of precarious times where freedom, liberty, and all those ideals we have grown to complacently accept as a given were on the verge of total loss.

It was during these times, statemen leaders, in fact, warrior leaders stepped up and changed the course of history in a way for which we would not recognize the world today had it not been that the people installed these leaders at that time and place.

Had Colonel William Barrett Travis not drawn his line in the sand at the Alamo, I am not sure where the world would be today. Had Winston Churchill not replaced Neville Chamberlain as Prime Minister of England and rallied not just his people but all free people across the world to rise up and defeat the evils of Nazi Germany, the world would not be the same today.

This was on my mind this weekend as I listened to renowned journalist Lara Logan address a crowd at the American First event, as she warned that our nation and our world is on the doorstep of a dangerous place – using a metaphor described how as we all march toward the doors of gas chambers, we are too occupied with either discussing the weather or arguing whether we should even be concerned with what is in store for us through the approaching doors.

I am retired from a career in Special Operations, having served in both the U.S. Navy, and the Texas Army National Guard, and I am concerned because I believe we are once again on the precipice of losing so much of our hard-earned rights and freedoms – but we are too busy discussing the weather, and selecting our leaders largely by which one tells us what we want to hear, and who has the best glamor photos.

Today, dangerous narcotics are pouring across our border by the ton, narcotics so dangerous like fentanyl they should be categorized as a weapon of mass destruction, and those smuggling it should be treated as enemy combatants.

Meanwhile, our national guard troops are not being given clear mission guidance by leaders who are failing to secure the border but are being badgered and abused by woke indoctrination, forced vaccination, and being left to work without pay.

We must learn that the fancy advertising paid for by millions of special interest dollars claiming we have secured the border is false and that the situation has never been direr.

We also must learn that the fancy advertising claiming our elections have never been more secure is also false.

Yes, the legislature passed a bunch of new felony laws to prevent election fraud, but they waive that fact in our faces as a distraction and avoid telling you the truth, which is that they also gutted the laws that prohibit the five main offenses for election fraud – whittling them down from major felonies to misdemeanors.

To top it off, the Texas Attorney General has been stripped of his power to investigate and prosecute election fraud, leaving the Soros-funded Democrat DAs in big cities as the only authority in the state who can bring charges for election fraud.

We have never been worse off, but the fancy advertising will tell you everything is ok.

You may have heard the saying “as goes Texas, so goes the nation.” I would add to that to say so goes the world.

We have a great responsibility as Texans to ensure the members who will make up the 88th session of the Texas Legislature in 2023 are statemen warriors who will not cede power to Democrats, who will secure the border, declare war on the terrorist cartels, end the atrocity of human trafficking, stop the flow of dangerous drugs that are destroying our communities, protect oil and gas, defend our law enforcement, defend our soldiers who defend us, oust liberal indoctrination from our public schools, protect our children, secure our elections, end green energy subsidies, reign in abuses of emergency powers and protect our rights of due process, protecting medical freedom and protect private doctors from the medical cabal, and the list goes on.

The fact these things need to be accomplished is a testament to the fact those presently in charge need to be fired for not accomplishing it already. And the longer these issues remain unaddressed by smooth-talking politicians, the worse it will become.

The truth isn’t always sunshine and roses, but we cannot hide from it forever because we perceive the truth as mean or angry, which is an effect of unfortunate luxury we have enjoyed.

The eyes of the world are upon Texas. Who we choose Tuesday will determine what the world looks like in years to come!

Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Baghdad parade grounds where Saddam used to parade his troops. It’s a good reminder “All that it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing”. I will take charge and always do the right thing and protect our Country.
